소격동에 위치한 아트센터 선재의 신축을 위한 타당성 검토안이다. 기존 부채꼴 평면이 지닌 공간 활용의 한계를 재해석하여 전시 공간을 보다 효율적으로 재구성하고, 층간의 시각적·공간적 개방감을 확보하고자 하였다.

또한 서측의 국립현대미술관과 경복궁 방향으로 주요 조망을 확보하도록 배치와 입면을 계획하였다. 입면에는 전통 기와의 질감과 형태를 현대적으로 재해석한 재료를 적용하여, 주변 역사적 맥락과 조화를 이루면서도 자연스럽게 돋보이도록 하였다.

This proposal explores the new construction of Art Sonjae Centre located in Sogyeok-dong. By reinterpreting the spatial limitations of the existing fan-shaped plan, the exhibition spaces were reorganised for greater efficiency while enhancing visual and spatial openness between floors.

The layout and façade were carefully designed to secure key views toward the National Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art and Gyeongbokgung Palace to the west. The façade incorporates materials that reinterpret the texture and form of traditional roof tiles in a contemporary manner, allowing the building to harmonise with its historic context while standing out in a subtle and refined way.
