​이 상 훈

Sang Hoon Lee

SLOW Architects의 대표 이상훈은 영국 왕립건축사로, 서울과 런던을 기반으로 건축 실무를 이어가고 있습니다.

서울대학교 미술대학에서 금속공예를 전공하던 중 영국 Architectural Association School of Architecture (AA)에 유학하여 건축설계를 공부하고 AA Diploma (RIBA Part I & II)를 취득하였습니다. 이후 Kingston University에서 Professional Practice 과정을 이수하고, 2006년 영국 건축사 (RIBA Part III)로 등록하였습니다.

런던의 Grimshaw Architects와 Richard Rogers Partnership (현 RSHP)에서 여의도 파크원 프로젝트 (더현대) 등을 설계하며 실무 경험을 쌓았고, 국내 여러 대학에서 건축설계를 강의해 왔습니다. 또한 서울도시건축전시관 전시기획팀장으로 활동하며 다수의 건축 전시를 성공적으로 기획하였습니다.

작은 가구 디자인부터 역, 공항 터미널, 콘서트홀에 이르는 대규모 공공건축까지 폭넓은 스케일의 프로젝트를 수행해 왔으며, 시간이 지나도 지속적으로 가치가 유지되는 건축을 지향합니다.

Sang Hoon Lee, Principal of SLOW Architects, is a UK-registered architect (RIBA/ARB) practicing in Seoul and London.

He began his studies in Metal Art & Design at the College of Fine Arts, Seoul National University, before pursuing architectural education at the Architectural Association School of Architecture (AA) in London, where he obtained the AA Diploma (RIBA Part I & II). He later completed the Professional Practice course at Kingston University and was registered as a UK architect (RIBA Part III) in 2006.

He gained professional experience at Grimshaw Architects and Richard Rogers Partnership (now RSHP) in London, contributing to major projects including the Yeouido Parc.1 development (The Hyundai Seoul). He has also taught architectural design at several universities in Korea. In addition, he served as Head of the Exhibition Planning Team at the Seoul Hall of Urbanism & Architecture, where he successfully curated and delivered numerous architectural exhibitions.

His work spans a wide range of scales — from small furniture design to large-scale public infrastructure such as railway stations, airport terminals, and concert halls — and is guided by a commitment to creating architecture that retains its value over time.
